The Meaning Behind My Art
I paint little moments of life: a quiet corner that feels safe, the changing of seasons, delicate flowers, the movement of nature, and the gentle presence of animals.
All of these small moments come together to express one feeling: peace, safety, and the inner calm we are all searching for in modern life.
As an immigrant, I learned that home is not always the place we come from. When I moved to the United States, I didn’t find myself missing the big buildings or busy streets of my hometown. Instead, I missed my mom’s flowers, my grandma’s lotus pot, and my dad’s little corner in the garden.
These ordinary, everyday things suddenly became immense in my memory.
They were never meant to be extraordinary. But when I was far away from home, I realized they carried something much bigger: a sense of belonging, comfort, and familiarity. They became little pieces of home that I could carry with me.
I think this is also a part of my culture: bringing the feeling of home into a new place through the small things we surround ourselves with.
That is what I hope to capture in my paintings. Not grand moments, but the quiet ones we might otherwise overlook: a flower blooming, an animal passing by, sunlight moving through a garden, or a familiar little corner that makes us feel safe.
I hope when you look at my art, you can feel a little piece of that peace, and perhaps find your own little moment of joy and home within it.
